Great product!Anonymous reviewerReasonably priced and inconspicuous light. We rarely have the overhead light on, so this is perfect as we prefer to have statement lamps rather than pull focus to the ceiling.5

Keep this design - but maybe pack betterAnonymous reviewerThis design, which takes two ES bulbs, doesn't box the customer in. A lot of ceiling lights adopt a one-size-fits all approach whereby the number of lumens is fixed (or sometime adjustable in large 'jumps'), which is great if you know what brightness you need. Recall Alert: IKEA Overhead Lamps Could Fall From the Ceiling Without Warning
It's bad news when you properly install a ceiling lamp, feel safe after the good job you did, and still have it come crashing down through no fault of your own. That's the situation that people have reported due to faulty retaining clips on two IKEA lamps, the HYBY and LOCK models.
The recall notice states:
The lamps have domed white frosted glass shades and three plastic clips that attach the shade to steel electrical lamp housings. The HYBY has a shade that is 15 inches in diameter and decorated with four opaque concentric lines. The lamp housing holds two light bulbs. The LOCK has a shade that is 10 inches in diameter. The lamp housing holds one light bulb. Type number and the model name of the lamps are on a label attached to the electrical lamp housing. The HYBY is type number T and the LOCK is type number T
The Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that you should immediately stop using the recalled ceiling lamps, uninstall them, and return them to any IKEA store for a full refund.
There were , of these units sold at IKEA stores worldwide and online from October through Jan
